Following their 4-3 defeat to Hertha Berlin, Liverpool will face Italian side Bologna in two 60 minute matches at the Camille Fournier Stadium in France. The match will most likely be played behind closed doors with no fans in attendance.
The Serie A outfit finished 12th last season and was recently beaten 3-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund in their previous preseason friendly.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Matip, Robertson, Keita, Milner, Jones, Mane, Salah, Jota
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Skorupski, Silvestri, Soumaoro, Bonifazi, Dijks, Svanberg, Schouten, Vignato, Orsolini, Sansone, Santander.
It is important to note that there will be two 60 minute games played. These are the predicted line ups for the best possible 11 however, expect to see a lot more youngsters mixed into both squads for both the matches.
For the Reds they have seen the return of their Brazilian boys with Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson all joining preseason training this week.
Bologna welcome Marko Arnautovic to their team after purchasing the Austrian striker for €3million from Shanghai Port. However it has been said the clash against Klopp’s men is too early for the new signing to feature.
The Italian side also welcome back Musa Barrow back to training after the centre forward was out for two weeks with coronavirus.
During their previous preseason friendlies Naby Keita has lit the pitch up from midfield for Liverpool. The Guinea international’s fancy foot work and close control has seen him manoeuvre the ball through tight positions and created brilliant scoring opportunities. Riddle with injuries throughout his Anfield career, the Red’s number eight will be hoping to impress the boss this preseason and force his way into the starting eleven. He will be looking to get a run of games under his belt and hopefully see the last of his injury worries.
Nicola Sansone will be a man Liverpool will need to look out for. The veteran forward has made his mark in both the Serie A with Bologna and Sassuolo and La Liga with Villareal. The 29-year-old scored two and assisted two from the left wing last season.
